It was just this past October that we started to blog, but we have had so many years of weddings & events that we want to share (and share again), so we have been going back to some of our events from past years that have not been blogged about – and seen from our perspective. One of the best compliments that we receive continuously is how timeless our events are, which we really take pride in because you don’t want to have others look at your wedding and be able to pinpoint exactly which year it happened because it was the hot trend at the time. Here we share one of our favorite past weddings (I just LOVE planning weddings at homes & private estates!):
Though Silvie & Stan reside in Venice, California, but for many of their guests, it was a destination wedding – many traveling from overseas mainly Taiwan where Silvie’s family is from, and Idaho, where Stan’s family is from. Silvie & Stan moved into their LEED Platinum Certified home, one of only a few in the country, and is a completely environmentally-conscious home, built as Green as possible (you can read more about the home on Project 710). They wanted to host their guests for a Welcome & Housewarming Party the evening before the wedding at their home.
For the event, we made sure that all elements were as eco-friendly & environmentally conscious as possible including, LED lighting (but also because the home is solar-powered), organic cotton linens from Wildflower Linen, non-disposable silverware, glassware, and plates, locally-grown & organic foods as well as wine catered by Good Gracious, succulent arrangements by Nisie’s Enchanted Florist, and provided shuttle transportation for most of the guests who were staying locally at the Huntley & Sheraton Hotels in Santa Monica.
Silvie & Stan’s guests had an amazing time at the Welcome party, a great preview to the FABULOUS wedding to come (at a gorgeous private estate in the Pacific Palisades overlooking the Pacific Ocean ). Stay tuned for the blog post of Silvie & Stan’s wedding. See the photos here by Joel Maus, Studio EMP of the Welcome Event:
